Shifting the conversation on cycling, transit, planning
& design in Central Arkansas. By Tim McKuin and Cary Tyson
Meh... that design sticks out like a sore thumb with its old world design. the new bridge doesn't need to be iconic, it just needs to safely serve all user groups. What can be done in the city for bike/ped issues with the money required beyond what AHTD is prepared to pay? Bike lane paint is CHEAP... how many millions will be spent on making the bridge "iconic" that could be better used implementing a complete streets plan?Just don't paint it red and put pig emblems all over it. Ick!
